Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

My sculptures were featured on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in March 2009. I had been commissioned to create an unglued life sized bust of Mr Ross and as with many of my projects, I was on a very tight deadline to complete the work. In fact, I was just placing the last few pieces on the sculpture when the man from the BBC came to collect it. There wasn't any time to take photographs of the finished sculpture, but I thought I'd just take some when I received the sculpture back.

I was invited to watch the episode being filmed and my Wife Karen and I were given VIP tickets, including access to the 'Green Room.' As soon as filming started however, I noticed that my sculpture lying behind Mr Ross' desk looked a bit out of shape. After telling the audience that 'Craig Stevens' had sent in a Lego sculpture of him, he showed my other creations on his big screen. When he reached down and grabbed his sculpture, it had obviously suffered a major accident. I had been partially rebuilt and was wrapped in cling film. Mr Ross said that one of the staff, Will had dropped the sculpture and would have to spend some time after the show rebuilding it. Then Mr Ross changed his mind and threw the sculpture over his shoulder. Smash!

It was a very funny sketch and I didn't mind at all that my work had been obliterated. National television coverage has done wonders for my order book, so the whole experience was 100% beneficial.

My thanks to Jonathan Ross and his team!
