Star Wars Sandcrawler

Standing 70 cm high and 110 cm long, this is one of my major Lego models. It has been displayed at various Lego events around the country and always a positive reaction. The pictures here were taken at the 2007 Star Wars Celebration Europe convention, where I was fortunate enough to be able to include the model in the official Lego company stand. The detailed droids and other machinery inside the model were kindly provided by my friend and colleague Tim Goddard. The event was great deal of fun and the models that Tim and I put on show really went down well with the paying public. I thank the Lego Company for giving me the opportunity to take part.

I have attempted to make the Sandcrawler in correct proportion to Lego figures, which explains it's size. As is often the case with films, the actual prop seen in Star Wars: A New Hope was only constructed half scale. The size of the model allows a lot of scope for interior detailing and working parts that I intend to eventually include. The beauty of Lego, is that there is really no limit to what can be achieved.
