Blockade Runner.

 

The Blockade Runner is my most ambitious project to date. The model is in scale to Lego minifgures and is over four meters in length. It is unquestionably the world's largest Star Wars Lego model and also one of the biggest privately owned models of any kind. The bridge section alone measures 50 cm x 75cm and is the first of six modules that makes up the model.

 

The model features a fully detailed interior, based on the sets built for Star Wars: A New Hope. I have drawn up my own diagram of the the corridor network, which actually matches the "real thing" unlike the official plans available in Star Wars publications. I did not use Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith as a source of reference, as the cockpit set constructed for the film was far too small.

 

The Blockade Runner is a major undertaking that has taken years to complete. I have been able to display the model at several events in 2009, where it has received a fantastic reaction. The model has also gained a great deal of publicity in the press and on the internet.
