My project to construct a Millennium Falcon in scale with Lego figures began in 1999. Despite it's size and fragility I took the Millennium Falcon to many Lego events, culminating at a public show at Legoland in 2002. The model received a terrific reaction, especially the interior corridor network which unlike the plans printed in various Star Wars books, actually matched the sets seen in films.

In 2006 I began a process of refurbishment. The new version of my Millennium Falcon measures 115cm x 84cm and is in true scale to Lego figures. The model may seem very large but the Millennium Falcon props seen in the Star Wars films were only built half scale. To add a little extra realism, I have used both old and new Lego pieces which helps to vary the colour of the outer hull. Every piece I use is in however in good, clean condition. I have improved the interior corridor network, which can be revealed via removable sections of the hull. The model is a work in progress, with May 2008 the completion date.
